Nikyu (Black
Belt 1)
1. Thai Boxer.
Attack/Flurry.
Step forward with left to fighting
stance, cover head with both hands; shuffle forward, grab back of neck with both
hands, pull in, head butt to face; maintain grip, right round house knee to
body, left round house knee to body, right knee to face; pull head down right,
right dropping elbow to back of head point, left dropping elbow to 7th cervical,
continue with elbows to ground.
2. Seven Swords.
(AB1-3). Two hand push.
A.) Step back with left to fighting
stance, double outward knife hand strike his push; right knife hand to left side
neck, left hand on top; left knife hand to chin, right hand guard; right knife
hand to left cheek, left hand under triceps; reverse right hand, pull back,
crane claw face (twisting head), left knife hand to throat; right hand cocked by
right ear; cross back 45° right with left, pivot to fighting stance, right knife
hand to left side of neck, continue motion, reverse and right knife hand to
right side of neck or throat, left hand guard; right side kick either leg.
B1.) Right punch. Step forward with right to fighting stance, left knife
hand strike to right arm, right knife hand to right side of his neck, pivot
forward to bow, left 4 finger eye shot; pivot back to fighting stance, right
uppercut to L-13, left hand to guard; cross back 45° right with left, stretch
left hand in front of face, right hand cocked by right ear, pivot to fighting
stance, left crane claw rake eyes, (twisting his head) left hand guard; finish
like ‘A’.
B2.) Start like ‘B1’, right uppercut to solar plexus, left hand to guard; left
outward crane claw to face, right knife hand to left side neck, left hand to
guard; circle right hand counter clockwise to right inward crane claw to face,
shift to bow, left knife hand to throat, shift to fighting stance, right
uppercut to chin; shift 180° to reverse bow right stiff leg rear kick to groin.
B3.) Step forward with right, left brushing parry, pivot to fighting stance,
right knife hand to right side of his neck, pivot to bow, left palm heel to
chin, right hand guard; right palm heel 45° strike solar plexus, left hand under
triceps; cross back 45° right with left, left supported finger to right eye,
hook socket, right hand cocked by right ear, pivot to fighting stance, pull with
left (twisting his head) to guard; finish like ‘A’.
3. Reversing Cyclone.
Attack.
Step forward with left to seisan, left
circular back knuckle to face, right punch to body; left hook to head or arms,
cross back in advance with right, pivot to twisted stance, right spinning
forearm to neck.
4. Knife and Hammer.
(ABC). Left hook.
A.) Step forward with right,
left tiger mouth to throat, right outward knife hand to left forearm; pivot to
fighting stance, right knife hand to left side neck, left hand to guard; right
crane hook back of neck, left hand to top of head, pull down and forward; step
back with right, adjust grip on head, right knee to face, right front snap kick
to groin; plant forward to fighting stance right dropping. elbow to spine.
B.) Start as ‘A’; step back right-left, shift right hand to jaw and pull him
forward; pivot to fighting stance, rotate head counter clockwise to break neck.
C.) Start as ‘A’ until right knee; plant forward to fighting stance, tuck head
into crook of right arm (chin pointing right, top of head on right hip), grab
right hand with left, squat to low naihanchi, pull up and in twisting with right
inside forearm, lift right hip to break neck.
5. Darting Serpent.
(AB). Attack.
A.) Step forward with right to cat,
double thumb strike (right to left rib point, left to right shoulder point);
pivot to fighting stance and right side elbow to left side of head, left palm
heel to right side.
B.) Step forward with right to fighting stance, double thumb strike (left to
right heart point, right to left side neck point); reverse hands and double
thumb strike (right to solar plexus, left to throat).
6. Trapping the Spear.
(ABCD). Right punch.
A.) Step forward with left to
bow, same time: right inward striking block to inside right arm, left inward
parry to outside right arm (trap block); right back knuckle to Tw-17; pivot 180°
to half bow, sweep his right arm down and clockwise with the left, right - left
knife hand strike to the right side his neck; shift back 180°, right uppercut to
face.
B.) Start as ‘A’ then; right crane hook the back of his neck, pull down to right
knee to the chest.
C.) Start as ‘A’ then; cross back left with the right, right knife hand right
side of neck (Gb-20); pivot to fighting stance, left knife hand to Gv-16.
D.) Back against wall. Start as ‘A’ then; grab his right shoulder with
the left, his face with right tiger claw; cross back right with the left; pivot
180° to fighting stance, throw him into wall, back first; reverse right hand to
back of head, pull him to right knee.
7. Bridging the Gap.
(AB). Attack.
A.) Left leg forward. Sweep left
leg with right; plant forward to twisted stance; step forward with left to
seisan, left hand grab throat, right hand guard; pivot 180° to Bo, left hand
pull (trip over left leg) to front, right punch left side of head.
B.) Same as `A’; but’ naihanchi kick to left knee with right.
8. Prance of the
Tiger. (A1-2,B). Right
punch.
A1.) Step forward with right to
fighting stance, double tiger claw palm heel strike right arm; pivot forward to
crossing stance, double tiger claw eyes (left to right); pivot back to fighting
stance right side elbow left side head, left palm heel right side of head;
(buckle his right knee with the right) pivot to dropping stance, right hammer
fist to groin, left hand to guard; pivot forward to bow, right back knuckle to
philtrum; left tiger claw to chin, right hand chambered; shift to fighting
stance, right tiger mouth to throat, left hand to guard.
A2.) Start as ‘A1’ to buckle; right scoop kick to groin, plant back with right
to fighting stance speed shift left leg back; left 45° kick to left inside
thigh.
B.) Double tiger claw palm heel strike right arm, right front snap kick to
groin; plant forward outside his right leg, left hand slide to right wrist,
right tiger claw to face; circle right arm counter clockwise to the rear, right
elbow to heart; right dropping tiger claw to face, step forward with left; kneel
on right, break his right elbow across left knee, slam back of head on ground.
9. Twisting Serpent.
Attack. In a boxing guard.
Step forward with left, left
hook punch between face and guards catching both arms; cross back in advance
with right, pivot to fighting stance, left elbow to right side of head; step
forward right with left, catch both shoulders; finish is optional.
10. Hidden Fist.
(AB). Right shoulder grab.
A.) Pin his left hand with left, step forward with left; pivot to fighting
stance, right knife hand to throat; step back with left, circle his left arm
clockwise with right; pivot to fighting stance, uppercut punch straight forward
to break elbow; step forward with left to fighting stance, reverse motion with
right arm, back knuckle strike to Gb-20, left hand in guard; shift, towards him,
to half bow, right back knuckle to solar plexus, left punch to face.
B.) Same as ‘A’ except; right knife hand to throat, left palm heel to face, left
front snap kick to body; plant forward; shift to half bow, right punch.
11. Tiger Attacks.
Attack.
Step forward with the right, right four
knuckle rake to the nose; circle right arm under left arm, left four finger eye
shot; right knife hand to the throat, left hand to guard; left tiger claw grab
to the groin, right hand to left shoulder; right side elbow to the face; left
hand pulls back to left pectoral; right dropping back knuckle to the face; pivot
to bow, left punch to the heart; shift to fighting stance right uppercut to
chin/tiger mouth to throat.
12. Arcing Blades.
(AB). Right hook punch.
A.) Step forward with right to
fighting stance, double knife hand strikes: left to right wrist, right to right
biceps; pivot to bow, right-left circular chops to right side of neck; pivot to
fighting stance, right rising elbow to jaw, left hand to guard, right dropping
tiger claw to face.
B.) Double knife hand strike (left to wrist, right to biceps), right front snap
kick groin; plant forward with right, right-left circular chops to right side of
neck; pivot to fighting stance, right rising elbow to jaw, left hand to guard,
right dropping tiger claw to face.
13. Sweeping Servant.
(ABC). Various attacks.
A.) Right punch. Step forward
with right to cat, left (Seisan) downward parry right punch, right upward
fingertip strike to groin; then left side neck point.
B.) Two hand choke. Same time: left (Seisan) downward to right arm, right
(Seisan) upward to left arm, right front snap kick to Cv-1 to free; plant
forward with right to bow, left fingertip strike to groin, right dropping. palm
heel to nose; circle right hand under left hand, shift to Kusanku, left hand to
guard, right knife hand to throat
C.) Two hand push. Start as ‘B’ to bow; circle right hand to top of left
arm, push left arm across and down on top of his right arm, left hand circles
behind right hand and grabs his left forearm, right hand circles behind left
hand and right punch to face; left hand slides to left wrist, pivot 180° to bow,
right vertical forearm break left elbow.
14. Blocking the Sun.
(AB). Left - Right punch.
A.) Surprised. Lean back, right
outward brushing parry to left punch, shift forward to bow, right inward parry
to right punch, left hand grab groin; shift 180º to Kusanku, left hand rip out
groin, right knife hand to throat.
B.) Step forward with right to bow, right inward parry his left 45° down across
body, left hand grab groin; finish as ‘A’.
15. Hand Staff.
(A1-2,BC). Club attack.
A1.) Overhead. Cross back left
with right, X block with back of hands, right inside, catch wrist with both;
pivot to naihanchi, pull right arm down to left shoulder, break elbow; release,
pivot upper body left rear, left supported elbow to heart; pivot to right
twisted stance, right spinning forearm to right side neck.
A2.) Hop forward left with left to fighting stance, right outward upward palm to
right wrist back of his hand; left uppercut to Tw-12; grab right wrist with
right; pulling down, rotate his elbow clockwise and up with left; left arm to
back outside of elbow, maintain right grip, step back with right, pull with
right and press down with left horizontal forearm, snap right arm down, kneel on
right knee; drop left knee on top of right elbow, grab right wrist with left,
pull up with both hands; break right elbow.
B.) Side. Step forward with right to fighting stance, double palm heel,
(left to wrist, right to biceps); catch with left pull, right outside forearm to
right side of neck; circle right arm under his right arm, step right with right
to bow, twist right outward to outside forearm against his right shoulder, left
hand reverse grip on his right wrist, push wrist forward, take down like
‘pin of a 1000 years’.
C.) Backhand. Step forward with right to cat, place left palm on outside
right elbow, right strike face; circle right arm around right wrist, catch with
crook of right arm, right elbow tight to right side, left palm on right elbow;
step back with right pivot to left kneeling and take down.
16.
Whirling Dervish. (AB).
Right punch.
A.) Cross over left with right to 45°
left rear, left parry punch, right middle knuckle hook to heart point; pivot to
fighting stance, left knife hand to same point; step forward with right between
his legs, right overhead tiger claw to face, left hand guard; continue motion
down; pull right arm up, right back knuckle to face; spin out.
B.) Same as ‘A’, no spin out; step back, then forward with right; pivot
to bow, left - right knife hand to throat and neck.
17.
Riding
the Staff. Left punch.
Step forward to fighting stance with
left, right outward twisting parry and catch left punch, four finger eye shot
with left; pivot forward to bow, pull left palm heel back, strike to his left
biceps, push forward with right hand (folding arm) to right palm heel Tiger claw
to face; left hand to guard, grab face, pull head back with the right, right
roundhouse knee to spine; right stomping naihanchi to his left back knee/upper
calf; drive to ground.
18.
The Scimitar. (A1-2,BCD1-2).
High right push, punch, or grab.
A1.) Step forward with left,
left upward parry, right upward circling strike to right arm; continue motion;
shift forward to half bow, right uppercut to right ribs, left hand in guard
A2.) Same as ‘A1’ except; left hand circles up to triceps keeping his right arm
elevated.
B.) Start as ‘A1’; right side elbow to right ribs; right front leg raise behind
his body, right back knuckle kidney; right tiger mouth throat, right foot sweep
back of legs, takedown.
C.) Start as ‘A1’; right reverse knife hand to groin; pivot 180º to half bow,
left circling hammer fist to back of neck; reverse 180º, right circling hammer
fist to left kidney.
D1.) Start as ‘A1’; right palm heel tiger claw to groin, left hand grab right
shoulder; naihanchi sweep his right foot with left, right hand pull out groin;
right uppercut to right ribs as left foot returns to position.
D2.) He doesn’t fall. Step forward with right behind his legs; pivot
180º, pull on right shoulder with left, right side elbow to head, trip him over
right leg to takedown.
19.
The Python. (ABCD).
Right push, punch, or grab.
A.) Step forward with right to fighting
stance, left-right brushing parry; right supported finger to right eye, hook
socket; step left with left; pull right hand to chest, left palm heel to right
ribs right punch face; right side kick right knee; plant forward right elbow
left palm heel strike head; catch right shoulder with left jaw with right, twist
clockwise; break his neck.
B.) Start as ‘A’; step left with left, right crane hook chin, left hand on right
shoulder, pivot to bow, pull with right, push with left to break neck.
C.) Left-right brushing parry; step forward with right to fighting stance, right
side elbow to right ribs; right back hand hook his right arm, pull right arm
down, reverse and right tiger mouth or knife hand thrust to throat.
D.) Start as ‘A’; slide right open hand forward palm to right inside biceps,
move his right arm away from right ribs; left open hand slides between his arm
and ribs; as his arm retracts from punch, step forward with left to fighting
stance, left forearm push (forward) his right arm behind his body; right hand
catches right wrist, left hand slides to his right elbow, pull right arm into
arm lock; right round house knee to body; plant back with right, pivot to right
bow, pull right arm forward to dislocate shoulder.
20.
Dance of Death.
Right push, punch, or grab.
Step forward with left to fighting
stance, double crane parry and grab his right arm, pull him forward; cross back
in advance with left, pivot 180° to bow, right 45°descending outward forearm
strike to right side/back neck; step forward 270° with left behind him, maintain
right forearm on back of neck, left tiger claw grab groin; pull back and up with
left, push forward and down with right; he falls on stomach; jump, both heels to
kidneys, squat; double palm heels to back of head, face to ground, grab chin
with both, yank up, pin shoulders with knees; catch top of head with left, twist
counter clockwise; hands to ‘crane’; right knife hand chops throat, left hand on
back of head; kneel with left knee on back, force him down; spring up, reverse
180°, drop right knee on spine, swing right knife hand to left side of neck;
jump straight up right heel to spine; step forward left 45° to crane stance,
beside his left shoulder; right heel stomp to head; dispose of body.
